Plainfield Community School District Libraries are excited to continue our library services for our students. For the safety of all, materials returned will quarantine for seven days before being allowed back in circulation. This decision is based on the REALM project (REopening Archives, Libraries, and Museums) data, as well as guidance from the RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) organization. The REALM project is conducted by IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) with OCLC and Battelle to study the viability of COVID-19 on library materials. The project draws upon the research to produce authoritative, science-based information. Safety is top priority.
Our students are encouraged to use the online library catalog through Destiny to view the great selections their school has to offer, put them on hold, then pick them up to enjoy! Most of our schools have upwards of 10,000 or more books for your student to choose from. Please contact your school’s library media specialist or principal for questions.
