The Groundhog was RIGHT! He said six more weeks of winter and we have certainly had our fill our snow for the first two weeks of February! Despite the weather, we have a lot of great things planned at Central! First of all, the snowday on the 9th has caused our Sweethearts' Dance to be postponed to FEBRUARY 16. We hope you can make that new date! It will also push back our final day of the year. Please watch for more info about that.
Also, Valentine's Day parties will be held on 2-14 at 2:20 PM (AM K begins their party at 10:45 AM)
Read to Succeed wraps up on February 16. Read to Succeed program allows kids to earn free tickets to Great America this summer. The last night kids can read is the 15th. ALL FORMS ARE DUE BY THE 16th! No late forms can be accepted. The reading log is uploaded to this website.
We have no school on Monday, Feb. 19, in observance of Presidents' Day.
There is a mandatory Talent Show "rehearsal" on 2-22, from 4-7 PM. Each participant will be given a time slot wtihin that time frame where they can come to practice their performance and make sure it fits the 2 minute time limit.
Finally, we end the month with our annual Literacy NIght which will be held on February 27 from 6 - 7:30, where students and their families can come to learn about some great authors and do some cool activities related to the read aloud books. We are also having our Family Book Fair Night the same night from 3:45 - 6:30 PM.
We hope you can join us for some February learning fun here at Central School!
